I'm finally at 136 lbs and my belly measures 27 1/2 inches! I feel good.
My midwife authored the quote of the week in Midwifery today's website...
"A good midwife learns quickly that humility will help her become more receptive to the needs of the mother and baby, thereby blessing her with greater intuition."- Lydi Owen

Hiking at Red Rock
Notice my profile....I do have a nice big belly!!

The weather was perfect so I decided we'd go to Red Rock for Earth Day, and since Danny's dad was in town, he could see Red Rock for the first time. I felt balanced and stable and really liked the hiking. It wasn't much, just the children's trail, but it was pretty. We all had a good time. I told the kids that next time we come to Red Rock I might have the baby with us in the back pack. Roman was shocked, appalled and worried as he responded, "the baby will suffocate in there!!!". We all laughed and laughed and after explaining to Roman that the baby would be in a baby carrier backpack, not my backpack. It was too cute!

Park Day
I'm still feeling great. I was outside a long time today at Lifelearners and I did get sunburned and dried out. It was only in the 80s but, I fear I will really have to limit my time outside until I can hydrate myself and leave this dry skin behind.
I had a wonderful time playing baseball with the boys. Danny came and joined us later and that just made my day!

9 weeks 5 days to go
I am amazed at how time is passing by! I am so excited. I think we may look through the name books again. Danny suggested Lisette, calling her Lisi. It was his cousin's name before she changed it to Lisa because she didn't like the name. Well, I'm with her. I really don't like the name so much. I like Lisi. I actually played field hockey in college with a Lisi. I'll get out the name book and look some more. More then likely we'll just wait until the baby is born. Or maybe I'll dream it! That would be great!
I'm still at 134lbs. Belly at 36 1/2. I feel good though. I do get shaky legs sometimes when I put my legs up or lay down. Probably just pooling blood. I'll ask my midwife on Monday. My stomach still isn't quite right. Lots of gurgling, but I am eating good. Rosie's cultured veggies are delicious!
My father in law is in town. I've been a bit anxious about his visit. I really feel I need my space and privacy! I'm doing ok. I am glad that he really can't just sit still. He likes to go and do and that helps. So does yoga for me!
I talked with a woman at the park the other day. Her daughter, who I also spoke with, is planning a homebirth with another midwife I considered. I'm glad I changed my mind. The daughter is pregnant, due end of May. She has had 3 other births, getting "stuck" at home at 7cm and having to go to the hospital. Her midwife would then be able to administer....I can't believe it..... Cytotec. This is a prostaglandin-like chemical used, FDA approved, orally for ulcers. Somewhere along the line someone found out that if you place a quarter of a pill on the cervix it works like pitocin only cheaper. It also is used for early abortions. Anyway, there is so much controversy surrounding this pill. It isn't FDA approved for pregnant women, much less in birthing. So, this girl's midwife would give her this in the hospital for each of her births. Now, living in town, she "happily" found a homebirth midwife who will administer this horrid pill at homebirths. AHHHHH!!! I am shocked. It has caused so many problems. Her midwife did say that she didn't believe she would need it and she would do everything to help her move along past 7cm. I am so glad I did NOT chose that midwife, just on that careless principal. Also, this pregnant mama has had seizures! (of course Cytotec is contraindicated for those with seizures and may even CAUSE them!) And to have this dangerous pill administered at a homebirth is even more risky in my book. Of course I had to check on line to find out more...

http://www.drugs.com/cons/cytotec.html (mentions that this can be linked to seizures)
Epileptic seizures have been reported with prostaglandins and prostaglandin analogues administered by routes other than oral. Therefore, misoprostol tablets should be used in known epileptics only when their epilepsy is adequately controlled and then only when expected benefits outweigh potential risks.

Hopefully our paths will cross again and I'll be able to share some information with this mama. I really don't understand how our "medical" profession can be so careless. Women have suffered at the hands of those they trust. But in this time, pregnant women should be on the ball. Gosh, we have the internet! Google it before accepting it!!! At least!!

Feeling better
I had a stomach virus or something going on in my gut for about 3 days. I couldn't really eat or drink very much. I lost about 5 lbs. Not good! Mostly water, though. I really worked to keep from vomiting so I could at least have water in my body a bit longer. I kept talking to the baby and feeling connected and breathing out healing energy. I felt a bit weak but overall ok. I'm finally feeling better. My friend Rosie brought me over some cultured veggies and a 16 strand probiotic to help me out. I am rebuilding my gut slowly but surely. It's strange how something can grip a body like that. I have regained all my weight and feel confident that, of course, the baby wasn't effected at all.
On a different note, I picked some roses today from my front yard and they smell so wonderful. I'm reminded of Abe Lincoln's wonderful quote, "We can complain because rose bushes have thorns or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses." I'm rejoicing. I suppose that's where I am right now. I want to always stay there. I'm feeling a new consciousness and I love it.

New bellies- Baby Jade's growing so much!
I weigh 133 lbs. My belly is now 36 inches. I love looking at the roundness of my body. It's nice to have some curves now!

Gabriel fell asleep the day before last holding my belly and feeling Baby Jade kick and move. It was an amazing connection. The look on Gabriel's face was just too cute. He was amazed and in love all in the same moment.
Gino laughed because I "cut my head off" in this photo but I was making a really funny face. I keep getting blurry photos when I try to take one of my whole self. Even when Trish took one it was blurry. I don't know what's up with my camera. I better get it figured out before the baby arrives!
